It does not provide direct services outside of research or technical assistance projects.Use applied research techniques to understand practical problems, and develop and disseminate state-of-the-art technology and knowledge to improve human services. The Institute seeks to increase Americans' awareness of issues in mental health and improve the formulation and implementation of public policy.
