Provides support, education, and advocacy for persons with mental illness and their families. Involved in providing educational programs such as: Family to Family training- a free, 12-week course for family caregivers of individuals with severe mental illnesses. The course is taught by trained family members All instruction and course materials are free to class participants. Peer to Peer training: is a nine-week course for people with mental illness, to assist them in understanding brain disorders, symptom management, relapse prevention, coping skills, and advance directives. Support Groups: -Connection Support Group: is a free, peer-led support group for any adult who has experienced symptoms of a mental health condition. -Family Support Group: is a peer-led support group for any adult with a loved one who has experienced symptoms of a mental health condition. -Alternatives to Suicide (Alt2Su) support group: is a peer-based support response to supporting those who have or currently struggle with suicidal ideation and provides a safe space where adults can share anything, including feelings or thoughts around suicide without judgment. -Healing After a Loved Oneís Suicide (HALOS): a peer-facilitated group, designed to support those that have been affected by suicide in any capacity. -VA Caregiver Support Group: offers a safe place to discuss the stresses, challenges, and rewards of providing care for a loved one. Also, a place to share your experience, advice, and support with other caregivers. -Black Community Mental Wellness Peer Support Group: is a free, peer-led support group that is ONLY for adults (i.e, 18+) who identify as Black and live with a mental health condition. -Young Adult Connection Recovery: a free, peer-led support group that is ONLY for young adults (i.e, 18-25) that are concerned about their mental wellness. -LGBTQIA+ Connection Recovery Support Group: a free, peer-led support group for any individuals that identify as LGBTQIA+ and have experienced symptoms of a mental health condition. This experience-based support group is ONLY for adults (i.e., 18 and older) who identify as LGBTQIA+.
