Women's Residential is a six month treatment program (60 beds) offering integrated co- occurring services utilizing the Minkoff Model. It is a modified therapeutic community where the women work during the last three months of their inpatient treatment and continue to attend Aftercare services for six months following discharge from the inpatient program. Gender specific services on-site include:Group counseling, individual sessions, life skills training, co-occurring education, domestic violence education, parenting classes, family education and support groups, nursing care and evidence based or manualized curriculum groups including Seeking Safety which addresses substance abuse and trauma issues, Criminal Conduct and Substance Abuse treatment which addresses criminal thinking and Anger Management.Clients collaborate with their counselor to create individual treatment plans to address substance abuse and mental health issues. Psychiatric services including evaluations, follow-ups. and medication management are provides through collaboration with the USF Medical School. Other medical services are coordinated through local community health agencies for visitation with children in the care of HKI and referrals to community agencies that provide pediatric health care and other children's medical/treatment services as needed. Cove works closely with the 13th Judicial Circuit Drug Court and the Florida Department of Corrections clients and provides an office for a probation officer at each site.
