Provides support, education, and advocacy for persons with mental illness and their families. Involved in providing educational programs such as: Family to Family training- a free, 12-week course for family caregivers of individuals with severe mental illnesses. The course is taught by trained family members All instruction and course materials are free to class participants. Peer to Peer training: is a nine-week course for people with mental illness, to assist them in understanding brain disorders, symptom management, relapse prevention, coping skills, and advance directives. Smarts for Advocacy: a 1-2 hour hands-on advocacy training program that helps people living with mental illness, friends, and family members transform their passion and lived experience into skillful grassroots advocacy. Support Groups: -Connection Support Group: is a free, peer-led support group for any adult who has experienced symptoms of a mental health condition. (virtual) -Family Support Group: is a peer-led support group for any adult with a loved one who has experienced symptoms of a mental health condition. (virtual) -Surviving a Suicide Loss Support Group: a peer-led support groups for family members, friends and loved ones of individuals who lost their lives to suicide. We aim to provide a safe, confidential environment in which bereaved people can share their experiences and feelings, and gain support from each other. (in-person) -Parents Offering Wisdom, Education, and Resources (P.O.W.E.R.) Support Group: (a peer-led support group for family members, caregivers and loved ones of individuals (24 years and younger) living with mental illness.
