Senior Companion volunteers are recruited, trained, and placed in homes to assist low-income elderly or disabled residents to maintain independence in their homes. The secure level II background checked caring companion volunteers provide homemaker and companionship services including assistance with meal preparation, light housekeeping, errands, and grocery shopping. Additional services may consist of respite for family caregivers or stimulating activities. By offering these services, seniors are able to age in place with dignity and quality of life. Senior Companion volunteers provide ongoing companionship and support to seniors who may feel isolated or lonely. In addition, they provide encouragement to help them remain connected to their communities.
