Heroes Comfort is a non-profit organization offering various online mental health services to support first responders and veterans. We are a fully operational peer survival group catering to a diverse pool of active and retired emergency professionals, including police officers, firefighters, nurses, EMTs, and other medical personnel. Based out of Lacona, Iowa, we extend our mental health services and recovery support to all community heroes across the United States. PEER SUPPORT Peer support workers are successful in the recovery process and can help others experiencing situations similar to theirs. Through shared understanding, respect, and mutual empowerment, peer support workers help their peers become and stay engaged in the recovery process. Peer support services can effectively extend treatment beyond the clinical setting and into the everyday environment of those seeking a successful, sustained recovery process. THERAPY SESSIONS Participants in the Heroes Comfort program are eligible to receive specially discounted or even free sessions for mental health assistance from a licensed counselor. Care for concerns such as depression, anxiety, relationship, and family issues are available. Contact us for more information, while we continue to work on our database of providers that have teamed up with us. AVAILABLE TRAINING We provide some local areas with training and education, either with or without CEH's in becoming a peer support provider, resiliency, grounding and mindfulness and more.
